Do I have to make an appointment to visit Stone Mart?
Nope! We welcome walk-ins.

I’m remodeling my kitchen, bathroom, bar area, etc. Where do I start?
Start at Stone Mart! Come view our material and write down what you like on your provided visit sheet. We’ll then send your visit sheet over to your fabricator for them to get your pricing on material.
What is better for my countertop - quartz or granite?
It really comes down to your lifestyle and personal preference.
Quartz is stain-resistant (it is a non-porous material) and scratch-resistent, but it is not heat-resistant due to resin and polymers in the material. We recommend to use potholders and/or a trivet before putting something hot on your countertop.
Granite is scratch- and heat-resistant. With being a natural stone, it is porous, so it is not stain-resistant. We recommend to have any natural material sealed after it’s installed to help prevent staining.
Does Stone Mart sell to the public?
Because we are a distributor and do not cut or install materials, we only sell material to fabricators.
We are happy to help with colors, designs, and ideas for your home, but you will need to consult with a fabricator to get any pricing, templating, and material installed in your home.
How do I buy my countertops?
As a distributor/wholesaler, Stone Mart does not sell any material directly to homeowners; we only sell material to fabricators. You will get pricing for your material from you fabricator.
What is the thickness for a granite countertop?
The standard thickness for a granite countertop is 3cm (an inch and a quarter).
Can a granite countertop crack, scratch, or chip?
Although granite is generally durable, scratches can happen. If your granite appears scratched, please contact your fabricator to speak to them about the possibility of it being removed.
To remove stains, use a cup of flour and a tablespoon or two of liquid dish detergent and mix together.
Make a paste and apply it over the stain. Apply a saran wrap to the area and leave it overnight.
Remove the wrap and paste the next morning.
What’s the difference between granite and marble?
Although both are stones and both are quarried from the earth, granite and marble (and marble’s relatives – limestone, onyx and travertine) are very different from each other. Granite is formed deep in the earth’s mantle at extremely high temperatures and is a very hard, resistant stone made of crystallized minerals.
The marble family – limestone, travertine, marble, onyx – starts out as sediment (animal skeletons and shells, plant matter, silt) at the bottom of bodies of water. After millions of years this solidifies (lithifies) into stone. Because its main component is calcium, it can be affected by acids such as vinegar and citrus beverages.
Do I have to buy the whole slab?
Slabs are always sold intact. Buying slabs is similar to buying fabric. Like a seamstress or tailor, your fabricator buys the raw material and sells you a completed installation. The price from the fabricator usually includes the cost of transporting the material, making field measurements and templates, cutting, polishing, bringing the pieces to your job site, and fitting them into place. How much material your fabricator needs is determined by the layout and the amount of waste. The fabricator will lay out your job in a way that will minimize the amount of waste material while maximizing the natural beauty of veining and pattern.
